U.S. Embassy: General information about the American Embassy & US citizenship
* Green Card winners can get a FREE airline ticket to USA
The United States maintains diplomatic posts around the world to support its relations with other countries and their people. This diplomatic post, known in the foreign country as the U.S. embassy, contains staff members from the United States that are present in that country for the sake of representing America abroad in the receiving state. The U.S. embassy, in practice, assists Americans abroad as well as foreigners by providing them with informational service regarding US immigration, U.S. citizenship, etc. The US ambassador is usually the head of the U.S. embassy. Most US immigrants begin their immigrating journey through their country's U.S. embassy branch. The U.S. Embassy's diplomatic missions usually denote the permanent presence in the capital city of the receiving country.
In most countries of which it has diplomatic relations with, the United States embassy is usually located in the hosting country's capital city. Besides the U.S. embassy itself, the U.S. may also have consulates in other large commercial centers or in other dependencies of the country. The embassy of the U.S. usually consists of diplomats and foreign policy officers maintained by the U.S. government. These pupils are responsible for the streaming of U.S. communication with the governments of other countries. The U.S. embassy is the best establishment used to maintain partnership with other friendly countries and a great way to address Americans abroad as well as foreigners with important U.S. and worldwide-related issues. Some of these issues include: passport renewals, US immigration, green card policies, green card lotteries (also known as American visa lotteries), as well as some universal matters such as the relevance of a greater democracy, state stability, economic growth, prosperity throughout the world, the fight against terrorism and emphasis on the importance of human rights.
The representatives of the American embassy in every country around the world make sure to fit the States interests in regards to the specific hosting country. The American embassy usually gives foreigners information about the US immigration department or otherwise known as the US immigration office. Everyone knows that migrating to the US is not an easy matter. It is not simple to obtain a U.S. green card or U.S. passport either. However, immigration to America is quite exciting. This is why the USA immigration forms need to be accurately filled out and processed. The embassy also provides foreigners with general immigrating explanations, working abroad forms, etc. The American embassy has a list of frequently asked questions in consideration of every day matters in that specific hosting country. These are usually commercial, economic, financial, agricultural, scientific, political affairs and labor related questions. Other questions relate to defense assistance issues, administrative support issues, security functions and public affair matters.
Legal aspects of the immigrating procedure are important as well. The American embassy's consular officers will provide emergency loans to U.S. citizens in need of monetary assistance while traveling abroad. The U.S. embassy will also re-issue lost or stolen passports and would generally provide many types of services for U.S. citizens traveling or living abroad. Consular officers also perform non-emergency services such as replacing lost U.S. citizenship forms, providing U.S. tax forms, providing notarization documents, issuing passports as well as processing estate/property claims. U.S. consular officers also issue about 6 million non-immigrant visas annually for foreigners wishing to visit the U.S. for work or study purposes. Since the embassy provides immigration information it issues almost 500,000 immigrant visas per year to those who wish to reside in the U.S. permanently.
Any citizen of a non U.S. country that wishes to enter and reside in the United States must acquire an immigration visa, whether or not that person plans to seek employment in the United States or not. There are three major ways to obtain a U.S. green card. A green card is a legal certificate that grants a non-US citizen the right to legally live and work in the U.S. These three ways are: a sponsoring employer must employ the non-US citizen, the non-US citizen must lawfully marry a United States citizen, and thirdly, the non-US citizen may participate in the annual U.S. green card lottery program.
To learn more about the annual green card lottery program you may contact your local American embassy.
Here you can find information of how to get in touch with your country's U.S. embassy.
